Job Description
The Manager, Data Management is an evangelist in data management domain, well versed in the industry trends and techniques around Enterprise Information Management discipline(Modeling, EDW, MDM, ODS, Meta Data Management, DAAS etc. ) and lead the technical teams in defining and implementing technology best practices, standards, tools and methodologies. This person will lead requirements analysis, data architecture, estimation, standards development/enforcement, and ensure alignment and guide the organization towards strategic goals. The Manager, Data Management will be responsible for leading the data management center of excellence. He/She will function as an Enterprise Data Architect who will oversee and approve the creation of the information models that support major applications, application components, and information sources of data across the enterprise. This person will be responsible for helping to define the technical specifications in relation to the data architecture necessary to support the functional requirements defined, and is a key party in the creation of data migration plans. This person will also be responsible for collaborating overall Enterprise Architectural solution with Enterprise Data Strategy and provide architectural feedback for Business Intelligence Solutions & Operations.Essential Job FunctionsBeginning with the most important, or in a logical sequence, describe 5 to 7 major responsibilities of this job. If a job function is considered to be less than 10% of the working time, please consider if it would be more appropriate to be included in the Non-Essential Job Functions section. 1. 10% Study, Develop, Implement, and Govern COE (center of Excellence) best practices & standards for the data management and architecture group.2. 40% Information/Data Architecturea. Support and drive the information strategy that maximizes the value of data as an enterprise assetb. Assess data impacts of new business requirements, new applications, application retirements, etc.c. Closely work with Data modelers to manage logical/physical data models d. Ensure metadata is maintained effectively and consistently across the enterprisee. Contribute to and approve the data specific components of detailed design documentsf. Develop and communicate data standards to be used across the enterpriseg. Plan architecture and infrastructure in support of data management processes and proceduresh. Support the build out of the MDM, Data Warehouse, Data Marts and operational data stores/marts and application databases such as ORS, CRS, Shopper etc.i. Evaluate new and emerging technologies supporting new and changing data standards and business requirements.3. 20% Analysis, Solution Design, and Development Oversight for the data projects.4. 10% Coaching and Mentoring the staff members of data management team.5. 10% Prototype and proof of concept development for the data models.6. 10% Conduct design reviews for the data management artifacts.Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

- Minimum of 8-10 years of IT experience in an application development environment.
- 6+ years of experience in designing/leading the conceptual, logical and physical design for distributed databases (OLAP, OLTP).
- 3+ years of experience in driving the Meta data architecture and master data management (MDM) solutions.
- 4+ years of experience in performing analysis and high level design for data management projects.
- 4+ years of experience implementing bulk and real-time data integration solutions.
- 4+ years of working experience in database partitioning, compression and encryption advanced techniques.
- Considerable experience leading multi-site and/or offshore development teams.
- Considerable experience working on large scale, enterprise wide projects.
- Experience with various software estimation techniques.

- Expertise in database and query performance tuning advanced methodologies and techniques.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge in Data Warehouse concepts, Industry trends and best practices.
- Strong understanding of activities within primary discipline such as master Data management(MDM) and Data Governance(DG).
- Demonstrate strong understanding of contemporary architectures, design patterns, best practices, and programming techniques around relational modeling, dimensional modeling and data integration.
- Consistently demonstrate exceptional analytical, logical reasoning and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate exemplary teamwork skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be a self-starter and should be able to initiate, prioritize, and complete assignments with little to no supervision.

- Excellent knowledge of various Software Development Lifecycle methodologies and their respective trade-offs.
- General understanding of the Project Management Lifecycle methodologies.
- Working knowledge and understanding of Incident and Problem management processes such as the ITIL framework.
- Experience in developing applications for Hospitality Industry preferred.
- Experience with Business Intelligence/reporting preferred.
