SUMMARY:
The Systems Administrator provides general I.T. Help Desk support for Clients systems such as Local AreaNetworks, Wide Area Networks, PCs and the various applications that are being used. The Systems Administrator also works with the Clients IT staff in a team environment to resolve problems and assist in projects
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· To provide Level 1 telephone support by answering calls and logging the tickets into the Track-IT system. Level 1 consists of general user information gathering and low-level trouble shooting. (ie. Password resets)
· To maintain and organize the Track-IT help desk system to ensure that the information being logged is accurate.
· To maintain and organize the desktop management system to ensure that IT assets are properly being recorded.
· To provide Level 2 and 3 telephone support, in areas in which the Systems Administrator has expertise. Level 2 consists of medium level trouble shooting and problem resolution (ie. Account creation, registry repairs).
· When needed, to provide the end users with basic Windows operating system and basic MS Office training and instruction.
· To provide support for local, central, and infrastructure applications used by Clients and its operating units.
· To assist in the deployment of common operating hardware and software in support of Clients IT plan.
· To install and support the corporate e-mail messaging system.
· To install and monitor anti-virus functionality on all Clients IT assets, where applicable.
· To support the Clients Wide Area Network as well as the Local Area Networks in each of Clients locations.
· To implement, maintain, and document LAN, WAN, and PC standards for naming conventions, configurations, software, and hardware in conjunction with Clients standards.
· When requested, to travel to nationwideClients operations to provide IT support or assist in IT projects.
· To explore, learn, and implement new LAN & WAN technologies including Network Management Tools.
· Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
University or college graduate from a computer science related program, preferred, or a diploma from a computer science related program. At least one year of experience working with LANs, WANs and PCs in a technical support role. Requires good written and oral communication skills with all levels ofClients personnel in a demanding corporate environment, as well as the ability to occasionally deal with IT vendors.
