The role will provide technical, analytical, and quality assurance testing expertise and contribute to test data setup, test plans, user stories, use cases, test scripts, and test artifacts for test solutions required to support IT, operations and business needs. This position will participate in all phases of the software development life cycle. This role will participate in agile testing methods where appropriate and in the utilization of test automation. Deliverables must result in the reduction of risk and higher quality. The Quality Tester must also build strong relationships with a team of professionals, including testers, project managers, application developers, IT, business, and management to deliver the best quality products to our clients.Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of testing solutions, perform testing, and compile test resultsDevelop, execute and maintain user stories, test cases, test scripts, unit test plans, QA test plans, system test plans, integration test plans, regression test plans, and other high-risk specialty test plans.Work closely with testing management, testers and project teams to understand the technical challenges and higher risk components and interfaces which need highly focused testing to ensure qualityobjectives are met.Works closely with testing management, tester peers, and project teams to coordinate test planning and testing activities to ensure that the appropriate test requirements and testing solution are designed, planned and executed.Assist in developing and maintaining test data and test environmentsAssist in implementing a test automation environment and testing process, and execute automated testing.Education or Experience:Bachelors degree or equivalent, preferably in information systems, computer science, business or a related field, plus at least 2 to3 years ofrelated experience; or at least7 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum Requirements:
- 3years of quality assurance testing experience working with software systems, applications, databases, web services, and multi-tier, networked environments
- 3 years of experience in test planning, test solutions, test scheduling, test plans, user stories/use case/test script development, test data setup, test quality reviews, test execution, and presentation of test results
- 3 years experienceinfull project and software development lifecycle, includingALM, agile, and SCRUM methodologies
- Functional knowledge ofbusiness process engineering, testing design, application design, software engineering, BMP process flows and swim lanes
- 2years of experience in test automation using a competitive industry testing toolset
- Detailed orientation with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, function well under pressure and in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Visio, Excel and Project
- Ability to work outside of regular hours on an occassional basis.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Desired Requirements:
- 3 years experience in software testing in a Microsoft-based software and database architecture
- 2 years experience in test automationusing a suite of testing tools, such as HP Mercury WinRunner, LoadRunner, IBM RUP Ration, and preferably Microsoft Visual Studio
- Experience in software builds, code change management, configuration management, and release management a plus
- Experience in using collaborative toolsets to support the creation and maintenance of shared repository of test and project artifacts
- Testing certification a plus
