Senior VOIP Services Manager at Middletown

Job Description:


  • The BVoIP Service Planning Engineer will specify service requirements, and support the design, development, and implementation of VoIP services for Enterprise customers, including in the Global arena.
  • The job function involves detailed service requirements (Tier 2/3) specification, and service architecture design.
  • Requires ability to take complex business requirements and translate them into detailed technical requirements/specifications for implementation by development organizations.
  • This includes being able to specify architectural solutions, detailed call flows, and SIP message flows for Enterprise VoIP services.
  • The candidate will lead a cross-functional team, and work across multiple organizations to formulate technical solutions to Product / Customer needs, and define this solution in terms of service requirements for the design, development, and testing organizations.
  • The candidate will be a key member of the service delivery team, as the project progresses through the requirements / design / development / testing / implementation phases involved in service delivery.
  • Knowledge of and experience in Voice over IP (VoIP) architectures and Enterprise VoIP services, including VoIP protocols and related standards (e.g., SIP, RTP, TLS, SRTP, T.38 Fax, Codec standards), is a requirement for this job.
  • Candidate must have excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Candidate must have experience in working with partner organizations (Sales Teams, Product Management, IT, Customer Care, NP&E, NetOps), development teams, test teams, and vendors. Requires knowledge of and experience with VoIP Network Elements Application
    Servers, Media Gateways, Session Border Controllers (IPBE) as well as VoIP Customer Premise Equipment (e.g., IP-PBXs, IP-IVRs).
  • Knowledge of data networking and the IP layer would be a plus.

Idea Candidate Must Haves:


  • Voice over IP (VoIP), Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), Telecom Services Voice / Data.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience.
  • Prefer someone who has worked for a Service Provider (e.g., client, Verizon, Cablevision) or for a Telecom Vendor (e.g., Lucent, Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, Avaya, Nokia-Siemens, Sonus, etc.).
  • Prior Job Functions: Should have experience in some or all of the following areas in a technical leadership role
  • Service or Product Planning, Requirements Specification, Design. (Any software development experience would be a bonus).
  • Minimum of Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. (If the candidate has strong prior experience in Telecommunications, then the Masters degree can be in another discipline).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
