MultiMedia Specialist at Princeton

Position Summary: Princeton University has a 10 month per year, part-time evening Multimedia Specialist position available:
Install, maintain, and repair multimedia equipment in Julian Street Library, Wilson College.
Support a lab with Mac OS X 10.8 and Windows 7 and 8 computers.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair multimedia related issues/questions posed by students.
Configure and maintain all multimedia equipment and systems.
Educate/train student staff on proper multimedia techniques on an on-going basis.
Maintain a database of all multimedia hardware and software, upgrades and fixes.
Prepare equipment for surplus.
Provide guidance and instructions to students on software and hardware within the center.
Manage day-to-day operations of a wide variety of audio/video equipment in addition to maintaining 8-10 iMacs and Mac Pros and some Windows machines.
Install, configure and test software with professional audio and video equipment: all new computer systems (Mac OS X 10.8 and Windows 7 and Windows 8 ), printers, scanners, Midi keyboards, audio mixers and interfaces, microphones, control pedals, scanners, and DV video decks and other computing related devices.
Support the following software packages: Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, GarageBand, Adobe - Creative Suite, iSquint, Mpeg Streamclip, VLC, Handbrake.
Design, develop and maintain the center website using Roxen Content - Management system or other web development software.
Take full advantage of training opportunities provided by the SCAD/DCS program.
Attend monthly SCAD/DCS meetings when possible.  Requirements-A bachelors degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Strong experience in administration, maintenance, and support of one or more of the following operating systems: Mac OS X 10.8, and Windows 7 and 8.
Demonstrated experience with software packages: Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, GarageBand, --Adobe Creative Suite, iSquint, Mpeg Streamclip, VLC, Handbrake.
Experience in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and using standard multimedia systems and software applications.
Ability to hire, schedule, train and manage student staff, to provide after hours support and weekend support for the multimedia center.
Ability to coordinate and teach multimedia workshop for students.
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain quick start guides for student staff to refer to for troubleshooting purposes and training on both software and hardware.
The ability to keep current with new multimedia technology.
Strong customer service attitude, initiative.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Must meet requirements for lifting/handling equipment including:
Stand or walk for 2-4 hours at one time, up to 6 hours per day.
Sit for less than 4 hours during an 8-hour day.
Lift or carry up to 25 pounds frequently (34-66% of the workday) and up to 50 pounds occasionally (less than 33% of the workday).
Lift up to 50 pounds in a range of motion from floor to shoulder height.
Push or pull with forces up to 35 pounds occasionally (less than 33% of the workday).
Use hands for simple grasping, pushing, or pulling frequently (34-66% of the workday).
Possess physical agility and full range of motion, and ability to maintain balance. Hold a camera and/or other relevant equipment to photograph multiple events per day
Sit at a computer for long periods of time while conducting image searches, retouching photos and editing videos
Distinguish colors accurately and be able to color correct photos and videos.

FINALIST WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK and PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL.
