Director of Nursing at Maywood

Maywood Center for Health and Rehab is a beautiful 120 bed sub acutecenter with rehab therapy 7 days a week. We are currently recruiting fora Directorof Nursing. To be successful in this role you must be a competent strong leader, multi-task in a very busy environment,and astaff motivator.Youwill havethe ability to interface with residents, families, staff, doctors, vendors and hospitals administration on a professional level. You will bea driver whose focus is clinical excellence, customer service, reduction of re-hospitalization, and manage staffing to budget and control nursing expense. You must have at least5yrs experiencewithregulatory, budget, clinical knowledge and some expertise in wound care, cardiac, pulmonary and restorative nursing a must.

TITLE: Director of Nursing Services

MAJOR PURPOSE: Responsible for the overall provision of the optimal achievable quality of nursing care for all residents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Ability to read, write and comprehend English; ability to follow oral and written instructions.
2. Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both.
3. Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position/assignment. On call as necessary.
4. Registered Nurse licensed in the State of employment. Minimum of three years additional education or experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing and one year of nursing services administration.
5. CPR certified.
6. Has background and understanding of Medicare guidelines.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in an appropriately lighted and ventilated environment. This position may result in your being exposed to blood/body fluids.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

1. Directs the coordination of all nursing services.
2. Acts as liaison between the Administrator and nursing services administration.
3. Reviews State of Connecticut inspection reports with the Administrator retrospectively to institute a plan of correction as required. Monitors results.
4. Assists Administrator with ongoing updating and review of nursing policies and procedures to assure continued quality of care.
