Senior Materials Planner at Piscataway

National Consumer Products Manufacturer is seeking a Materials Planner for their Central New Jersey facility. The Materials Planner is responsible for determining production priorities; publishes and monitors production; resolves scheduling problems; maintains production database. The Materials Planner will be working closely with Sales, Finance, Marketing, Logistics, and Operations departments.

Responsibilities:

*Design and determine weekly and monthly forecast analysis

*Manage inventory targets approved by management

*Overall Purchase Order management of components, and finished goods safety stock

*Negotiate, and formalize purchasing agreements with selected vendors

*Determines production priorities using master production schedule and customer requirements

*Organizes production schedule by studying work order specifications, availability of material, and workforce

*Publishes production schedule by identifying products, equipment, completion dates

*Monitors production by collecting production logs versus scheduled progress

*Prepares reports by complying and summarizing production and down time data

*Maintains production data base

Required:

*Bachelors Degree, MBA in Supply Chain Management is a plus

*2 to 5 years experience as a materials planner in a manufacturing environment

*Knowledge of purchasing and inventory planning procedures / policies is a MUST

*Solid computer software skills, Oracle experience is preferred or SAP

*Solid MSOffice; i.e. Advanced Excel, PowerPoint

*Able to summarize critical production issues in a cogent manner
