Job Description:
My client is a National Company with a Global Influence. Currently they are looking for a Commodity Manager accustomed to working with little supervision. This individual will have the ability to manage the entire sourcing and procurement spectrum. The ideal candidate will need to have tactical sourcing / procurement experience, the ability to shift priorities as situations arise, and be able to multi-task.
Responsibilities:
- The Commodity Manager will function as the lead in conflict resolution issues as they arise in regards to suppliers and vendors.
- The Commodity Manager will have the ability to create and implement business plans in order to be proactive in the needs of the company.
- This individual must have the ability to lead a cross-functional team which will include vendor representatives.
- The Commodity Manager will create commodity teams who will work across the country with the goal being to monitor and drive spend leverage.
- Must be able to obtain quotes, requisitions, approvals, and purchase orders.
- Negotiates lease returns or buyouts.
- Maintains accurate data in the Oracle system.
Requirements:
- The candidate must have a Bachelors degree and 7 years related experience, MBA preferred
- Consumable purchasing experience required, manufacturing background preferred
- Must have experience sourcing fuel for use.
- Must have strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable with change and shifting priorities.
- CPM certification preferred.
