About PSC:

Polyurethane Specialties Company, Inc. (PSC), in Lyndhurst, New Jersey was established in 1972. It is a privately held company, which employs upwards of 50 people. The company manufactures polyurethane intermediates, including polyester polyols, polyurethane prepolymers and specialty polyurethane coatings. PSC also does custom manufacturing. A few examples of products that use PSC materials include spandex fibers, hot melt adhesives, roller blade wheels, toner wiper blades for photocopiers, rollers used in newspaper production, adhesives used in military meal packs, specialty coatings used in lighter-than-air craft (blimps), shoe soles, and industrial goods.

Job Description:

First response for troubleshooting equipment; Electronics, Pneumatics, and Mechanics.

Maintain communication with production supervision and support staff regarding the status and capabilities of the equipment.

Manage Engineers and Support Staff on special projects.

Troubleshooting and resolution of equipment issues and process disruptions, developing and implementing process improvements, performing process monitoring, and supporting investigations.

Understand all equipment capabilities, operation and methods within assigned areas to ensure superb product quality, process capability and efficiency.

Evaluate recurring maintenance problems to determine root cause and then formulate a corrective action plan for implementation.

Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion following plant housekeeping guidelines.

Develops leaders and builds a high performing, operation culture through utilization of a performance management process that sets expectations, ensures ongoing coaching / mentoring and assesses employee performances.

Requirements:

Minimum of a Bachelors degree in related field.

2-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility.

Experience using continuous improvement tools to drive significant business results in key metrics.

Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.

Understanding of Environmental and Safety issues and regulations.

Able to work a flexible work schedule including overtime and weekends if needed.
