DUTIES:Back to top VA New Jersey Health Care System (VANJHCS) seeks to recruit one full-time Primary Care Physician to split time working at the Paterson and Jersey City, NJ Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) locations.The CBOCs are a section within Ambulatory Care Service under the Chief Medical Officer and the Chief of the CBOCs, who reports to the Associate Chief of Staff/Ambulatory Care Service.  The incumbent is designated as a Primary Care (PC) Physician assigned to any of the ten (10) CBOCs located within New Jersey and under the directions of VANJHCS.  The primary purpose of the Physician is to provide comprehensive medical care to a panel of patients within the assigned location or in any other location as may be determined by the Chief Medical Officer in collaboration with the Chief of the CBOCs.  The health care services expected to be provided to veterans by the PC provider include, though are not limited to: disease diagnosis, treatment, pain management, and preventive health care.  The PC Physician reports to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and the immediate designated clinical supervisor, and collaborates with the CBOC administrative officer (AO) and others assigned as CBOC administrative and clinical supervisors (Nurse Manager/Administrative Supervisors).  He/She provides assistance of clinical, technical, specialized, and/or administrative support in nature to all administrative and clinical staff assigned to the CBOC.Relocation/recruitment expenses will not be reimbursed.   • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Proficiency in primary care womens health care (pap smears, vaginitis, birth control, menopause, etc.) is required.
  • Board certification or eligibility is preferred but not required.
