Manager Communications, North America Consumer-7283130912DescriptionThe North American Consumer Communications team is looking for a manager to join the team and lead the execution of key external and internal communications programs. This role will report to the VP of N.A. Communications. This role can be based in Skillman, NJ; Washington, DC or New Brunswick, NJ.The manager of N.A, communications is a broad role that encompasses divergent elements of the communications mix, including;Public Affairs: Alliance and relationship building on behalf of the N.A. Consumer group with key NGOs, special interest groups and influencers in the D.C. market and in partnership with our V.P. of federal affairs.Thought Leadership: Helping to identify and shape thought leadership communications internally and externally. This programming should highlight our superior insights and help differentiate our brands and company in the minds of customers, influencers and employees.Equity Building And Promotional Communications; Showcase consumer company programs already underway at the global and N.A. Consumer levels to employees and external audiences to build awareness and esteem for the CSR, sustainability, community and advocacy leadership from our company.Direct-To-Consumer Communications: Support reputation leading consumer business activities such as Healthy Essentials.Social Media; help develop responses to, and look for opportunities to engage directly with, our important influencers in social media, Manage and shape conversations directed at our brands and our business.Cultivate and manage relationships with key trade media contacts.The candidate will need to deliver results oriented programs consistent with brand and company objectives, and help to increase brand awareness and motivate consumers/professionals to take action.QualificationsA Bachelor&s Degree in Liberal Arts, Business, or a related discipline is required. A degree in Communications or Journalism is preferred. A minimum of 5 years experience in managing external communications programs is required. Experience within Consumer Packaged Goods or Consumer Healthcare at a corporate environment or Public Relations agency is preferred. Candidates who have a proven track record of successful Public Relations, Communications, Corporate Communication, Product Communication and/or Media Relations achievements are preferred. Proven ability to develop successful working relationships with senior executives is required. Significant experience dealing with national and local media, trade and social media, and/or professional/trade and third-party organizations is required. Experience in managing project budgets/schedules is preferred. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. This position requires up to 10% in domestic travel.
