ENTRY LEVEL TECHNICIAN at Tenafly

Lexus of Edison, located in Edison, NJ, is looking for an Entry LevelTechnician tojoin our growing family.Lexus of Edisonis a part of, Penske Automotive Group, Inc., headquartered in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, operates 342 retail automotive franchises, representing over 40 different brands and 30 collision repair centers. The Entry Level Technician is responsible for performing minor services and repairs under close supervision of the Team Leader. He or she will also assist the Team Leader in maintaining the teams route sheet.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Receive repair orders from the team leader and take to stall area.

-Before working on the vehicle, carefully review each repair order with the Team Leader to determine the scope of the work needed.

-Bring vehicles from parking area into wash bay.

-Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards.

-Diagnose the cause of any malfunction & check the car for additional service that may be needed.

-Review diagnoses & recommendations with the team leader.

-Advise service advisor if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.

-Document work performed.

-Ensure customers vehicles are kept clean & do not change customers radio stations or other settings unless necessitated for repair purposes.

-Quality check work performed by adequately road testing vehicles & having the team leader check each vehicle.

-Keep shop area neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times.

-Understand & follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.

-Wear appropriate PPE including regular use of company provided safety goggles.

-Appropriately and safely operate lifts as mandated through safety training.

-Arrive for each shift on time and ready to work.

-Report any accidents to the service manager immediately.

-Will be required to follow seat belt regulations and Rules of the Road"

Requirements

Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Valid drivers license and a good driving record. Manual dexterity and good judgment. Neat and professional appearance.ASE certified a plus.

The Entry Level Technicianwill stand six to eight hours per shift, lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds several times during each shift, and use hoist and test equipment as needed. S/he will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle, and feel. S/he will use hand and power tools. S/he will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials. Road-testing of vehicles may be required. The Technician trainee will be required to wear a dealership uniform at all times.
