This position is located in Newark, NJ.
This role is a hands-on opportunity to apply analytics techniques to the Financial Crime Risk (FCR) domain. The FCR Analytics team will work with key stakeholders across the bank to identify patterns, risk indicators, linkages and illicit activities within FCR datasets. The FCR Analyst will be responsible for all FCR risk metrics/analysis and for all reporting to FCR senior management.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Identification of patterns using data mining techniques and advanced algorithms on customer data, transaction data and sanctions datasets.
2. Provide innovative ideas to identify patterns and illicit activities, undertake predictive analytics on Financial Crime data
3. Provide intelligence reports that identify emerging areas of risk / vulnerability and which drive remediation action within the FCR function
4. Maintain dashboards and metrics that allow FCR to dynamically monitor risk within the client base
5. Provide analytic insights into system optimization
6. Assist the Financial Crime Risk data governance program
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelors (Advanced preferred) degree in statistics/mathematics, or social sciences with excellent quantitative methodological skills
- Five years analytical experience identifying trends and proposing new or revised analytical approaches to discover illicit activity within data sets
- Strong skills in SAS/SQL and other BI Tools like Business Objects/Cognos. Sound knowledge of programming concepts. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, macros.)
- Excellent collaborative and team building skills and a desire to work as a part of a high functioning team of financial intelligence specialists.
- Strong oral and written communications skills/report-writing and experience defending research findings
- Data gap and cleansing experience
