The Staff Engineer is responsible for leading technical activities from concept all the way through launch of the product including designing, optimizing, analyzing, prototyping, testing and validating the product. Staff Engineer will be an integral part of forming the core competency in mechanical and fluid dynamic analysis excellence.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the effort to implement and improve R&D guidelines to work with customer, marketing, regulatory, medical and user requirements into specific, measurable functional product requirements
  • Lead and perform analytical/theoretical force and fluid flow/mechanics analysis
  • Utilize Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Tools and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Analyze and draw conclusions from test data for improving product performance
  • Lead and guide root cause analysis for field returns and production failures
  • Design products that are compatible with plastic injection molding process
  • Apply knowledge Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM)
  • Provide guidance for FEA analysis and in interpreting results
  • Manage and assess external vendors/supplier work and capabilities
  • Conduct design reviews, FMEAs and design verification programs
  • Demonstrate strong and clear accountability/responsibility for successful and timely completion of designated tasks
  • Ensure compliance with BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through appropriate communication, training, and education of sound quality assurance principle
  • Qualifications REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Biomedical. Masters or advanced degrees are preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering preferably in new product development
  • Able to lead and perform analytical/theoretical force and fluid flow/mechanics analysis
  • Experience in tolerance stack up analysis for complex assemblies
  • Provide guidance for FEA analysis and in interpreting results
  • Preliminary knowledge of Polymers
  • Experience in FEA, CFD, modelization (1st principal)
  • Experience in CAD software (ProE)
  • Experience in Plastic Part design and molding is desired
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification is desired
  • Prior Knowledge Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM) preferred
