Job Title: Open Stack/Cloud Software Developer

Job Location: Middletown, NJ 07748 OR Seattle, WA 98101 OR Saint Louis, MO OR San Ramon, CA

Duration: 6 Months – High Possible extension

Responsibilities:

 

• Responsible for designing and developing complex and highly distributed cloud-based applications 
• Technologies to be leveraged for this project will be a deep knowledge of web-based user interface technologies, including Ruby on Rails. 
• Design and deliver features that meet the business needs of the customer 
• Support delivering software that supports a highly available, fault tolerant SaaS application 
• Produce high quality software designs to support long term maintainability and extensibility of code 
• Produce high quality and well-documented code 
• Experience in Python programming to extend and customize OpenStack components 
• Experience in REST API integration to integrate OpenStack with other tools 
• Convert high level design to a detailed OpenStack design with well-defined integration points and interfaces. 
• Experience in Virtualization with KVM and Libvirt 
• Knowledge of OpenStack core components and sub-projects 
• Experience in selecting, designing and developing a tool-chains with loosely coupled software components (e.g. Chef, Nagios, Crowbar) to perform specific technical functions.
• Experience with Project Management

OpenStack experience in months (real-world/production)

HW platforms (servers, storage, network)

Components the candidate is an expert in (OpenStack components, management tools such as Chef,…)

Where was this experience gained?  Specifics on the project (number of nodes, VMs, apps,…) and the candidates role

Versions for the following:  OpenStack, Hypervisor (KVM, Hyper-V,…) and Host OS (Ubuntu, RHEL,…)

If they have contributed to the OpenStack community, any pointers to these contributions.
